The hook was developed back in the 1700's by blacksmiths for butchers. We hand make them at our family ranch in East Texas with a stainless steel rod - razor sharp with solid wood handles. Our commercial hook is 30" total length with a 15" hardwood handle -great for forearm leverage holding up to 20lbs. Left - Handed and other sizes available. Go to:

Grapeland, Texas??? I didn't know anybody was from Grapeland.I have been there many time as my Father and Mother live there.Where is your place located.Maybe I'll try to stop by next visit down there.
The extremely sharp, stainless steel hook doesn't penetrate enough to lose the natural juices. Unlike a fork or tongs, the meat will not fall off until you are ready to put it down. It is especially nice to turn the hook over while grilling and run it between the item and the grill surface - seperating it from the grates so you won't rip the "goodie" off and leave it on the grill.
You have got to see it to believe it! Marcia
