Hey Randy, I re-read my comment and it sounded sorta smart. I apologize. I didn't mean it that way so I deleted it. That gentleman with that 55 gal. drum, sure could cook.

So when you take them out of the fridge; do you wrap them in foil then? Seems to me best time for smoke to enter ribs is at the start when you put them on grill.

I took most of the money that night so I bought everybodies pork chops from them, if they would sell them. I'll always remember that. I guess that is what got me interested in cooking. Who knows ! Just wish I had more of those pork chops !!!!!

Randy,
I think the Char Griller is a GREAT smoker, I see them all
over the place and have seen a lot on TV. I even saw where a
team won in Brisket that they smoked in a 55 gal drum so I
agree that you have to know your PIT and that its possible to
make great BBQ on just about anything...
Thanks Randy. It's new and I'm still trying to learn to cook on it. Cooked GREAT ribs the first time out. I must brag on you guys from Texas. That's where this pit came from. Dave Klose does GREAT work. He's in Houston. Gotta learn how to do the bacon thing. This is a great site. I've only been on here one day, and I'm already learning from good people.
I agree, I bought the smaller one last year with my tax
stimulus money and liked it. I recently came into a few
extra unexpected $$ so I got the bigger one. There is a
website who has some GREAT deals on them, check
out "pelletgrilloutlet.com" They even have deals on the
pellets with free shipping...I am going to get the NEW
Weber 26 3/4" as soon as I save up the $300 ...I have
cooked on Weber's for 15 years and just Miss it...
Randy...Did u ever have a chance to check out the Traeger
website? I like the fact that there are so many different pellets
and that you don't have to keep adding wood and coals every
hour.
Oh Yeah.....check out the website...traeger.com or pelletgrilloutlet.com to see all of the Wood Pellet Grills that they offer. Just smoked ribs then turned up the heat and cooked chicken and T-bones, and ALL of them were GREAT...Bob
