I am in Chicago IL, I am sure the forks work the with stainless steel rod however I don't know if they would be compatible with my rig given the spits are wooden and resemble axel's. However if your friend has a website or contact…
What part of the country are you in Mike? The guy I bought my machine from is in the sharon, Pensylvania area. he sells stainless forks for about $20.00 each.
Hi Ed,
Yeah, it's certainly a heck of a lot better then the rig that I inherited from the old Croatian's in our town. Most of the old timers have died or are told old to do the lamb or pig roasts anymore and the younger generation never…
Hi Mike. My setup is new. I could have bought one in the want ads that some old guy had and God knows what he did to it. I had a few extra bucks and I figured buying a new machine would be a better deal. The pipes are stainless and a lot easier to…
Hi Mike. that setup you have looks great and that little girl looks just like our oldest grand daughter. She always says "give me some bone"...meaning ribs. She loves them. I have two charcoal grills and one lp gas...I HATE that gas grill.…
As for a better picture I will have to work on that. Cooking a pig is no easy task. You have to get forks and secure it GOOD at both ends and I tie it in the center as well. When the meat is close to being done, the rear end is so heavy that the…
it's a nice machine but I would like to change it to get the two pipes closer, sort of drop one lower....I got it from a guy in the Sharon, Pa. area. He builds them. I figured getting a NEW one is better than buying one that some guy used and…

If I can find that guy's phone number that I bought my machine from, he sells GREAT forks for about $20.00 each. Don't feel bad about that pig, I can't tell you how many pigs we finished in the OVEN. Pig is hard to cook even for a veteran. You see, the spine isn't strong enough to support the weight of the back end, when it cooks, it twists. I've even bought stainless steel hose clamps and used them...they work great if you hook them together.

Hi Mike. My setup is new. I could have bought one in the want ads that some old guy had and God knows what he did to it. I had a few extra bucks and I figured buying a new machine would be a better deal. The pipes are stainless and a lot easier to clean up than black pipe. he also sold me stainless forks with thumb screws to tighten them down. It's a great setup but it can still use some improvement.
Hi Mike. that setup you have looks great and that little girl looks just like our oldest grand daughter. She always says "give me some bone"...meaning ribs. She loves them. I have two charcoal grills and one lp gas...I HATE that gas grill. Charcoal gives the meat a great taste...lp gas is like taking a shower with a raincoat on....it's there, but just not the same.
As for a better picture I will have to work on that. Cooking a pig is no easy task. You have to get forks and secure it GOOD at both ends and I tie it in the center as well. When the meat is close to being done, the rear end is so heavy that the spine isn't strong enough to handle it. I tie the spine to the pipe in at least two places....it IS good eating though. Look for a Vegtable seasoning called VEGITA I put a handful inside both the lambs, pigs, and chickens. IT's a product of Croatia and it's great.
it's a nice machine but I would like to change it to get the two pipes closer, sort of drop one lower....I got it from a guy in the Sharon, Pa. area. He builds them. I figured getting a NEW one is better than buying one that some guy used and then died or got sick.
