Keith's Rub

I use this rub for my chicken, pulled pork, baby back ribs and brisket. I'll add some things to it depending on what I'm cooking that day but generally I'll use this as a base:



1/4 cup paprika

1 tablespoon brown sugar

1 tablespoon white sugar

1 tablespoon sea salt

1 teaspoon fresh black pepper

2 teaspoons cayenne pepper

1 teaspoon dry mustard

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

1 teaspoon thyme

1 teaspoon basil

My Favorite Homemade BBQ Sauce

This comes from Steven Raichlen's "The Barbecue Bible". I use it as a side sauce for my pulled pork and for my wings (with a dash of Frank's red Hot for some kick). It's a really tasty sauce that I like to bottle and have on hand at all times.



2 tablebspoons peanut oil

1 small onion, minced

1 clove of garlic, minced

2 teaspoons minced fresh ginger

1/2 teaspoon hot red pepper flakes

Bour-BQ Sauce Recipe

This is some of the tastiest BBQ Sauce I've ever had and wanted to share the recipe, I usually use it for my Ribs, Pork Loin and chicken thighs and breasts. It is based off of the recipe found in "Smoke & Spice" by Cheryl and Bill Jamison but I did change it a bit:



1/4 cup butter

1/4 cup vegetable oil

1 small onion, minced

1 tbsp of fresh ground ginger (optional)
