Cooked a sirloin tip roast today that was really good: rubbed it good in my own rub (garlic powder, onion powder, salt and pepper) and refrigerated approx 4 hrs. Seared over coals 5 min ea side. Then added Mesquite chips over coals. Put a pan of water over coals and cooked indirectly for approx 1 hr. This was a first for me and it turned out good good. My son in Cali. call this meat "tri tip". I asked for a Sirloin Tip Roast and I think it was pretty close to tri tip. You can't get tri tip in MS
