I agree with Dale, I have been using my propand burner for a spell to light my charcoal in the chimney, no mess. Works great, once you try it you want go back to the paper, UNLESS you have NO OTHER CHOICE, happy cooking :)

test run, couldn't wait. Got some smoke leaks to fix and a few more issues to deal with. 400 degrees on the fire box end and 350 on the other end. I am concedering adding some tunning plates at some point.

Gary, heat rises so with the stacks in that position (looks like halfway point) it will hold the smoke and heat for a longer time before being forced out the stacks. This design may even prove to work better for shorter cook times? I think it will…

The Texas logo was cut with a plasma, every thing else has been cut with a standard hand torch. The stack vent control slides in and out to control the baffel plate, hope it drafts and smokes good, time will tell. Thanks for the reply

Very Nice work, Gary, are you cuting your parts with plasma, laser or waterjet?, I like your Logo, It looks like your stacks are around the half way point, Let us know how this design works (smoke draft flow), Is the handle fixed or does it slide…
