Welcome! Not that much activity on here lately (my excuse is workload) but feel free to comment, share pictures of BBQ successes (failures too...I promise I won't tease because we've all had them).

I will be competing in Ridgeway, SC in the "Pig on the Ridge" contest on November 6-7. It's a great party Friday night and an awesome car show/BBQ competition the next day.

http://www.ridgewaysc.org/ - Very small town with no budget for web pages, but there is usually 50-75 teams that show up for this one! You will get some amazing BBQ!

And Thanks Don!

Ryan, Follow the link posted by Phil McMillan. That is open pit. I built a pit above ground that works the same but can be used when a ground pit would be half full of water.

I'd like to know more about open pit pulled pork. I'm not sure what that means? Please tell us more!

Don, not speaking for everyone in the group, but it is probably safe to say, if it is meat of any sort, especially pork, we are probably open to it. Please share...

Howdy all! Name of my grilling team is Palmetto Cookers and we cook the South Carolina BBQ Association events all over the state. Check it out at http://www.scbarbeque.com/

You can see the events we've competed in in the past and make note of how we win a few, but lose a bunch! LOL! It's all fun though! Just be sure to get to an event if it is near your home town as they are always good cookers at these events!
