just bought a brinkman grill w/the side box for indirect cooking, would like advise on whether it would be a good idea to smoke the chicken along with the spare ribs to save time...still learning open to knowledge

would be save to start with the ribs first then add the chicken
I did it today and they both came out great. Did the spare ribs for 4 1/2 hours added the chicken after the first hour so they had 3 hours. temp was 225-250 did the chickens as halves. Used a basic rub for the ribs and a tequila lime rub on the chicken (from Kinders Meats in CA)
