Bad News BBQ...Here's a suggestion for duplicating from Google...

 
There was a barbecue sauce in the D.C. area called "Bad News", made by former basket player Jim 'Bad News ' Barnes...the best sauce going!!! and the stopped making it 10 years ago.
 
After a gazillion attempts I have finally gotten close to replicating it after tasting a Key West hot sause that Karen of Fat Tuesday's gave me... the key ingredient i was missing?  RAISINS.
 
1/4 C. oil
1 can Campbells DBL strength beef broth
3/4 C. raisins
3 oz. Worchester
1/4 C. Soy sauce
1 TBL + 1tsp Black pepper
1 TBL Cider vinegar
1 TBL onion powder
2 tsp garlic powder
2TBL dark brown sugar
2 C. catsup
1 1/2 tsp liquid smoke
 
simmer for a bit till the raisins plump...puree in a blender, then simmer slowly to thicken
 
PS Raisins may sound odd but raisin paste is a key ingredient of A-1 sauce.
 

Some say I have ADD, but they don't understand..... Oh, look! There's a chicken!

i  love to take  bostan poke roast and slow  cook it for 3 and half hours on slow cooking pit

Thank you Randy for your help. Everyone has different tastes, and somehow, this is one of my favorites even though I have had many many good BBQ sauces in the past and now. Again thank you and happy grilling.....

Back in the 70s, I remember a BBQ sauce called "Bad News". I have not seen it since, as I have moved to several locations since that time. However, I would like ot know if this company is still around and if they are still selling the "Bad News" BBQ sauce? I would love to get some or order some if possible. Many thanks.

I would like to Thank Mark and Gary , your advice was great Gary, everything was good I received some great reviews from the kids and the family, and Mark the sauce recipes were great as well everyone had a choice in sauce or to go plain but they LOVED the option of choosing , my father in law (whos a pick eater) couldnt pick his favorite sauce and had 6 yep 6 sandwiches lol my 3 year old had 3 lol . Thank guys you really did make this party great. Oh and btw way the new smoker is on its way I called a freind of mine and we talked it over.....the next one is goin to be on a trailer and 4 times bigger then my old one.

Hell, back when I was a poor young man, I went down and paid 8 bucks for a galvanized aluminum trashcan with a lid and used that for my smoker for years.
