Glad to see someone started a NC club since there is such diversty in the state cooking! I am in Edenton, NC and enjoy all the different flavors of food out state has to offer1

Right now I am cooking with a Weber Kettle Grill and a Gas Grill as well (name slips me at the moment). Working on getting a pig cooker as well. I would love to have a dedicated smoker as for now I am smoking with the Weber, it does the job, but a smoker or a grill with a smoker box would work better.
I am in Raleigh. We actually just customized our charcoal pig cooker last summer and added a smoker box to it. It really does work great for smoke control, although the connecting tubing isnt large enough to heat the cooker hot enough to properly cook.

Are you going to the cookoff this weeknd in Edenton? We were thinking about it but are going to Carthage to compete instead. There is another in Castle Hayne.
I was planning on going, actually had planned to enter the Amateur section, but it falls on the same day ECU graduation. Since my brother is graduating, I decided I should attend that first! Always next year, unless another close one comes around again.

Born and raised in Catawba County. My Dad smoked/grilled alot, and was from Nash County, NC, so I am a fan of Eastern NC BBQ. Love the vinegar based sauce!

I grew up in Chapel Hill. Then went to UNC Greensboro for college. Now I'm living in Little Rock, Ar. I brought my grill with me when I moved out here a little over a year ago. The BBQ is not the same. :( Nothing beats a good NC sauce.
