Comment by Philip LaMarche on February 26, 2011 at 2:42pm I just bought a new cast iron grill grate from Craycort cast-iron-grates. Has three seperate grill surfaces that are removable for easier fire and wood management. Really nice and already seasoned.

Comment by Keith Firth on February 25, 2011 at 8:12pm Hey Johnny W & Dave Maxwell,
Welcome! I can't speak for everyone, but, all of us ceramic BBQ lovers, owe it all to the Japanese and their Kamado. That's where it all began. The #3 kamado is one fine cooking machine. Pricey but very nice.

Comment by Keith Firth on February 22, 2011 at 6:06pm Hey Glenn,
Welcome aboard. Either is a good choice. It really depends on how much you BBQ at a time? I find that the large accomidates very nicely for family size BBQ's. I have done up to 5 whole chickens or 3-4 whole pork shoulders or butts for that long slow BBQ.
